Assalam o Alaikum,
As the Director-General of Pakistan Young Leaders Conference 2012 and, more importantly, a student of Masters in Business Administration at the Institute of Management Sciences, it is an honour for me to welcome you to the Union.
As you may know, NUPSA is an apolitical and independent body representing 42 University Pakistan Societies across the UK, and 30 acrossPakistan. It is a Union run for Pakistani students, by Pakistani students and continues to work towards promoting Pakistan in the international and national sphere for the geographically diverse, culturally rich and warm-hearted nation that she is. By working collectively with you, we aim to contribute to the nation-building process that we, as a nation, are currently undergoing. Our flagship event, the Pakistan Young Leaders’ Conference (PYLC), is a bi-annual event held in both the UK and Pakistan, which serves to do just that.
Over the past few months, myself and my team have been working towards putting together a thought-provoking, intellectual and all-encompassing Conference, which will be heard by the policy-making institutions of our country. My aspiration is that this year’s PYLC not only develops the leadership qualities that the Pakistani youth harbours, but also proactively works to address the ongoing dilemmas currently faced by our nation. The resolutions passed during the 3 day Conference will be acted upon in the form of think-tanks working throughout the year to ensure that there is the essential follow-up which ensures the betterment of Pakistan. This continuous development is what will separate the doers from the talkers. By joining hands and acting upon the responsibility bestowed on us, we will make our country and founding-fathers proud, InshAllah.
Asimah Majeed Marwat
Director General PYLC 2012
